Description: Malayalam actor Joju George has a busy week with two films, Adrishyam and Iratta, releasing on OTT platforms. Adrishyam is a bilingual film in Malayalam and Tamil, while Iratta marks Joju’s first double role in his career. Both movies are directed by debutants.
Adrishyam, directed by Zac Harriss, premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 28. The film features Sharafudheen, Narain, Pavithra Lekshmi, Anandhi, and Athmiya. It originally released in theaters last year and follows a group of people searching for a missing girl. While Narain plays a police officer, Joju’s character conducts a parallel investigation on the orders of a politician.
Iratta, directed by Rohit MG Krishnan, is set to release on Netflix on March 3. In this film, Joju plays twins Vinod and Pramod, both police officers. The story revolves around an investigation after Vinod is found dead in a police station, leading his brother to uncover a shocking truth. The cast includes Manoj KU, Anjali, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Sarath Sabha, Arya Salim, Srinda, Sreekanth Murali, Kichu Tellus, Sabumon Abdusamad, and James Eliya.
The Tamil version of Adrishyam, titled Yuki, features a different cast with Kathir in a major role. Zac Harriss has stated that Yuki and Adrishyam are treated as distinct films due to differences in cast and performances.
In a recent interview, Rohit MG Krishnan revealed that it was Joju’s idea to portray twins in Iratta. The film promises a gripping narrative and intense performances, making it a must-watch.
