Description: “Insidious: Chapter 3,” released in 2015, takes place several years before the Lambert family’s haunting. The story follows Quinn Brenner, a teenager who seeks the help of retired demonologist Elise Rainier to contact her late mother, Lily, who passed away a year earlier. Elise reluctantly agrees but warns Quinn against further attempts after sensing a dangerous presence.
Shortly after, Quinn is distracted by a mysterious figure on the street and is hit by a car, leaving her with severe leg injuries. As she recovers at home with her father, Sean, and brother, Alex, she begins experiencing terrifying paranormal events. She is haunted by a dark spirit known as the “Man Who Can’t Breathe,” the same figure responsible for her accident. The spirit’s presence grows stronger, and Quinn’s condition worsens.
Desperate for help, Sean approaches Elise, who is also grieving the loss of her husband, Jack. Initially hesitant, Elise is convinced by her friend Carl to use her skills once more, inspired by her past success in a 1986 case involving Josh Lambert. Meanwhile, Alex suggests hiring online-famous demonologists Specs and Tucker. During their investigation, Quinn becomes possessed by the malevolent spirit, attacking those around her.
The film delves into themes of loss, courage, and the battle between the living and the supernatural, as Elise must confront her fears to save Quinn from the dark forces of the “Further.”
