Description: Carson Morris, a former straight-A student, has been battling drug addiction for the past year after enrolling in a prestigious Catholic high school. She reluctantly agrees to let a film crew document her journey as she enters a rehab clinic for an intervention-style show. At the clinic, Carson becomes the target of ridicule from other patients, as she claims her drug use stems from being demonically possessed.
Jason, a sympathetic production assistant on the crew, bonds with Carson and begins to believe her claims as her behavior grows increasingly erratic. Some of her supernatural actions are even captured on camera, but only when she is alone. While there are discussions about bringing in an exorcist, Dr. Dean Pretiss, the clinic’s physician, opposes the idea, fearing it would harm Carson’s mental health. When Carson attacks Jason, the show’s producer, Suzanne, pushes for an exorcism, but Dr. Pretiss insists on transferring her to a mental institution instead.
The next day, during a physical exam, Dr. Pretiss discovers that Jason gave Carson heroin while she was unconscious, believing the drugs would keep the demons at bay. This leads to Carson’s expulsion from the clinic, and her family withdraws their consent for her to be filmed. Undeterred, Jason follows Carson home, attempting to contact her family, but her parents, Beth and Steve, repeatedly turn him away. As Jason investigates further, he uncovers that Carson was bullied at her new school by her so-called friends, who forced her into a Satanic ritual as a prank, leading to her possession.
