Description: “Infidelity in Suburbia,” a 2017 film, explores a dramatic storyline centered on marital betrayal and unexpected twists. The protagonist, a woman from *I Spit on Your Grave*, dreams of renovating her kitchen with an all-white design. She hires a seemingly attractive contractor, whom she and her husband meet at the docks. However, the film’s casting is peculiar—every male character looks strikingly similar, creating confusion. The contractor begins the renovation shirtless, with the camera frequently focusing on his physique.
The plot thickens when the woman discovers purple underwear on her husband’s boat, leading her to believe he’s unfaithful. In response, she embarks on a brief affair with the contractor. Their encounters, including one framed by a mop and broom, are far from romantic. Meanwhile, the contractor’s bizarre behavior is revealed—he lives on a boat with an altar of his mother’s photos and whispers “mommy” while tracing her image.
The woman eventually learns her husband is innocent and regretfully ends the affair. The contractor, now coaching her son in baseball, becomes increasingly unhinged. At a surprise party hosted by her husband, the contractor attempts to set up with the husband’s assistant but fails due to his fixation on maternal figures. His frustration escalates into violence, leading to murder and a chaotic confrontation with the husband. The film concludes with the woman being tied up in a poorly executed rope scene, leaving audiences bewildered by the series of events.
