**Storyline:**
The story begins with a bomb attack at a street café in Israel. Chloé (Evelyne Brochu), a young Canadian obstetrician, works at a Red Crescent clinic in Ramallah, West Bank, but resides in Jerusalem. She lives in the same building as her Israeli friend Ava, who serves as a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces. Daily, Chloé commutes by bus between her apartment and Ramallah, passing through checkpoints. One of her patients is Rand (Sabrina Ouazani), a pregnant Palestinian woman whose husband, Ziad, is imprisoned in Israel awaiting trial. Chloé also befriends Rand’s family, including her older brother Faysal (Yousef Sweid), younger brother Safi (Hammoudeh Akarmi), and mother Soraïda (Zorah Benali). Faysal works at a print shop that produces Palestinian propaganda posters.
After gunmen attack the nearby Beit Shomron Israeli settlement, wounding two civilians, Israeli soldiers interrogate the men in the refugee camp. In Jerusalem, Ava confides in Chloé about her discomfort with the dehumanizing nature of her checkpoint duties but feels unable to leave her job. Later, Chloé spends time with Rand and Safi, who are scavenging for supplies near the separation barrier. A local child attempts to attack an armored Israeli truck but is struck and killed. During the boy’s funeral, he is honored as a martyr.
The boy’s death deeply affects Chloé, leading her to confront Ava about the disproportionate attention given to the settlement attack by Israeli authorities. Ava defends the response, stating the settlers were seriously injured. As Chloé spends more time with Faysal and Rand’s family in Ramallah, she gains insight into the impact of the Israeli military occupation. Her growing sympathy for her Palestinian friends leads her to assist Faysal in posting propaganda posters.
