**Storyline:**
On a dark and stormy night, a fierce thunderstorm rages over a desolate Nevada road. A family of three experiences a blowout and is forced to stop. As the father attempts to change the tire, a passing limousine strikes his wife. Despite the protests of the limo’s passenger, a spoiled movie star, the driver takes everyone to a nearby motel. The roads are flooded in both directions, and the phone lines are down. Others also seek refuge at the motel, which is managed by an eccentric clerk.
In total, there are 10 guests. One by one, they start dying. Fans of Agatha Christie might suspect that one of them is the murderer—or perhaps it’s the clerk. Meanwhile, the story cuts to a last-minute hearing for a man (played by Pruitt Taylor Vince) convicted of several brutal murders. A grumpy judge has been awakened for this appeal, and unless he reverses his own ruling, the man will face execution. His psychiatrist (played by Alfred Molina) steps in to defend him.
