Description: The 2010 film *I Spit on Your Grave* follows novelist Jennifer Hills as she relocates from New York City to Louisiana to work on her next book in seclusion. On her way, she encounters Johnny, a gas attendant who embarrasses himself while flirting and giving her directions. When the plumbing in her rented cabin malfunctions, Jennifer meets Matthew, a socially awkward plumber who fixes the issue. She thanks him with a brief kiss, which he later shares with Johnny and his friends, Andy and Stanley. Johnny, still resentful after the gas station incident, decides Jennifer is arrogant and deserves to be “taught a lesson.”
That night, the four men break into Jennifer’s cabin to harass and assault her. Matthew, however, shows sympathy and refuses to participate. Jennifer escapes into the woods but is found by Sheriff Storch and Earl, the cabin’s owner. Storch takes her back, but upon discovering her stash of drugs and alcohol, he allows the men to return. The group, including the reluctant Matthew, gang rapes her while Stanley records the attack. Jennifer narrowly escapes by jumping into the river when Storch attempts to shoot her.
Seeking revenge, Jennifer begins to track her attackers, learning details about their lives. Stanley reports his camera and the incriminating tape missing, while Storch intercepts a video sent to his wife, suspecting the men. Johnny and Andy accuse Matthew of betrayal. During a hunting trip, Storch kills Earl, claiming to eliminate “loose ends.” Later, Matthew returns to the cabin, attempting to apologize to Jennifer, but she rejects his remorse and strangles him.
