Description: The movie “I Lost My Body” (2019) tells the story of a severed hand that escapes from a laboratory refrigerator and embarks on a journey across the suburbs of Paris to reunite with its owner, a young man named Naoufel. Through flashbacks, the film reveals Naoufel’s life. As a child in Morocco, he dreams of becoming a pianist and an astronaut, documenting his daily life on a tape recorder. During a car ride, his distraction causes an accident, killing his parents and leaving him to live with his distant uncle and rude cousin in France.
As an adult, Naoufel struggles as a pizza deliveryman, often criticized for being late. One day, he delivers a pizza to Gabrielle, a young woman, but they never meet face-to-face due to a malfunctioning security door. Despite this, their conversation sparks Naoufel’s infatuation with her.
Later, Naoufel discovers Gabrielle works at a library and begins following her. He finds an opportunity to get closer to her by applying for an apprenticeship with her uncle, Gigi, a carpenter. Naoufel moves into an attic apartment Gigi provides and starts learning the trade while secretly pursuing Gabrielle.
Naoufel builds a wooden igloo on a rooftop as a gesture for Gabrielle, inspired by their conversation about the Arctic. However, tensions arise when his cousin invites both Naoufel and Gabrielle to a party, complicating their budding connection.
