Description: Simran (Sonam Kapoor) is deeply passionate about Bollywood romances; her life even mirrors one. With her successful career and a seemingly perfect fiancé, Raj (Sameer Dattani), she lives a life straight out of a fairy tale. However, her world takes a turn when Jay (Imran Khan) enters the picture, bringing a new sense of joy into her life. Jay works as an assistant to a well-known director famous for love story films, yet he despises romantic tales and is skeptical about love itself. Initially, Jay and Simran clash due to their opposing views on romance, but they eventually develop a strong friendship.
As Simran grows closer to Jay, her relationship with Raj begins to falter. She starts to question whether Raj is truly the right person for her and finds herself falling for Jay, imagining a future together. Summoning the courage, she confesses her feelings to Jay, only to be heartbroken when he clarifies that he sees her only as a friend. Devastated, Simran distances herself from him.
Jay, however, begins to feel the void of Simran’s absence and realizes he has fallen in love with her. He arranges a romantic dinner to express his feelings, but this time, Simran rejects him, unwilling to hurt Raj by leaving him after giving their relationship another chance. Heartbroken, Jay struggles to accept that he has lost Simran to Raj. Encouraged by his friends and mother, he refuses to give up on her. Jay attempts to make Simran jealous but soon understands that manipulating her emotions will only cause her more pain.
Meanwhile, Raj proposes to Simran, and she accepts. Yet, deep down, Simran knows she doesn’t truly love Raj. She decides to break off the engagement and attend a movie premiere, hoping to reconnect with Jay. On his end, Jay is preparing to leave, having lost hope of being with her. The story captures the complexities of love, friendship, and the choices that shape our lives.
