Description: The Viking village of Berk, situated on a remote island, faces constant attacks from dragons that threaten lives, destroy property, and steal livestock. During one such attack, Hiccup manages to shoot down a Night Fury—a rare and dangerous dragon. However, no one believes his claim, prompting him to search for the fallen dragon on his own.
At the dragon-killing ceremony, everything goes awry. Toothless, the dragon Hiccup befriended, comes to his rescue but nearly kills Stoick, Hiccup’s father. Despite Hiccup’s pleas, the enraged Vikings chain Toothless. In a moment of frustration, Hiccup reveals that Toothless once led him to the dragons’ nest. Stoick, ignoring Hiccup’s warnings about a massive dragon, decides to use Toothless to locate the nest again. He sets sail with the Viking fleet, leaving Hiccup behind.
This act of abandonment leads Hiccup to a profound realization about his moral strength, personal resilience, and Astrid’s belief in him. Inspired, Hiccup, along with his classmates, mounts practice dragons and sets off to follow the fleet. Equipped with a new tail fin prosthetic and saddle for Toothless from Gobber, Hiccup takes flight with Astrid and his friends. Together, they celebrate the newfound alliance between Vikings and dragons, marking a turning point in their lives.
