Description: Five years after the Viking villagers of Berk made peace with dragons, they now live together in harmony. Hiccup and his dragon, Toothless—the Night Fury and likely the last of its kind—explore and map uncharted lands. While investigating a burnt forest, Hiccup and Astrid find an ice-encased fort ruin and encounter a dangerous group of dragon-trappers. Eret, one of the trappers, accuses them of destroying his fort and tries to capture their dragons for Drago Bludvist, the group’s leader, who aims to enslave and brainwash all dragons to build an army.
Hiccup and Astrid manage to escape and warn Stoick about Drago’s plans. Stoick orders the villagers to fortify Berk and prepare for war. However, Hiccup believes peace is possible and decides to confront Drago directly. Stoick stops him, revealing that he once met Drago at a chiefs’ gathering. Drago had offered protection from dragons in exchange for their loyalty, but when they refused, he attacked them with his dragons, leaving Stoick as the sole survivor.
During their journey, Hiccup and his friends meet Valka, a dragon-rider revealed to be Hiccup’s long-lost mother. Stoick and Gobber follow Hiccup to the dragon nest, where Stoick is reunited with his wife. Meanwhile, Astrid and the other riders, guided by Eret, are captured by Drago, who learns of Berk’s dragons and sends his armada to attack.
A fierce battle breaks out at the nest between the dragon-riders, Valka’s dragons, and Drago’s forces. Drago reveals his own Bewilderbeast, a powerful dragon that challenges the alpha. His Bewilderbeast seizes control of all the adult dragons, forcing them to obey hypnotically. The fight for freedom and survival intensifies as Hiccup and his allies strive to protect their dragons and their home.
