Description: “Housefull 3” (2016) is a Bollywood comedy film that follows the story of three robbers who attempt to steal jewels in London but end up being caught by the police. Six years later, Batook Patel, a wealthy businessman, opposes the marriage of his three daughters—Ganga, Jamuna, and Saraswati—believing that their ancestors faced misfortune due to marriage.
At a party, the daughters confide in a friend that they each have a boyfriend: Sandy, an aspiring football club owner; Teddy, a hopeful racer; and Bunty, a budding rapper. Sandy has an alter ego named “Sundy” that emerges whenever he hears the word “Indian.” When the daughters inform their father about their relationships, Batook consults a restaurant owner, Aakhri Pasta, who poses as a fortune teller. He warns that if the girls’ husbands see, speak to, or enter Batook’s home, Batook will die. To protect their relationships, the daughters convince their boyfriends to pretend to have disabilities: Sandy acts as if he is paralyzed, Teddy pretends to be blind, and Bunty feigns muteness.
Meanwhile, Batook reveals to Pasta that his daughters are actually the children of Urja Nagre, an underworld crime lord. Batook, Nagre’s former associate, has been caring for the girls while Nagre is imprisoned. Batook plans to marry the girls to his three sons (the robbers), unaware that Nagre has returned to London. As the daughters prepare a wax statue for Batook, the boyfriends are observed in public, each pretending to have a different disability. Later, Nagre questions Batook about his daughters’ potential husbands, and Batook suggests three men he claims are orphans doing community service at a Gurdwara. Nagre approves them, setting the stage for further chaos and comedic misunderstandings.
