When Patrizia becomes pregnant, she sees an opportunity for reconciliation within the family. Aldo introduces Patrizia to his son Paolo, an aspiring designer with little talent but big dreams. With Aldo’s help, Maurizio reconciles with his terminally ill father, Rodolfo, just before his death. Although Rodolfo rewrites his will to include Maurizio, he fails to sign the document transferring the Gucci shares. Patrizia forges Rodolfo’s signature, securing a 50% stake in Gucci for Maurizio.
Patrizia then devises a plan to gain control of Gucci by acquiring shares from Aldo and Paolo, who own the remaining 50%. She clashes with Aldo over the illegal sale of counterfeit Gucci products and starts consulting a psychic friend named Giuseppina “Pina” for advice. Patrizia manipulates Maurizio, who has little interest in the business, into taking a more active role in the company. Paolo provides Patrizia with evidence of Aldo’s tax evasion in the United States, hoping to secure her support for his own fashion line. Aldo is arrested and sentenced to prison. Patrizia deceives the Italian police, claiming Paolo is unauthorized to use the Gucci trademark, leading to the cancellation of his fashion show. When Patrizia and Maurizio attempt to buy Paolo’s shares, he refuses and severs ties with them.
