Description: In 1977, on October 30, amateur criminals Killer Karl and Richard Wick try to rob a gas station and horror museum. However, they are killed by the owner, Captain Spaulding, and his assistant, Ravelli. Later that night, four friends—Jerry Goldsmith, Bill Hudley, Mary Knowles, and Denise Willis—are traveling to write a book about unusual roadside attractions. They meet Captain Spaulding, who owns “The Museum of Monsters & Madmen,” and learn about the legend of Dr. Satan. Intrigued, they set out to find the tree where Dr. Satan was hanged.
Along the way, they pick up a hitchhiker named Baby, who claims to live nearby. Shortly after, someone hidden in the bushes shoots out their tire with a shotgun. Believing it’s a flat tire, Baby takes Bill to her family’s house for help. Baby’s half-brother, Rufus, arrives and takes the stranded group to their home. There, they meet Baby’s family: her adopted brother Otis Driftwood, her deformed giant half-brother Tiny, Mother Firefly, and Grandpa Hugo.
During dinner, Mother Firefly shares a disturbing story about her ex-husband, Earl, who tried to burn Tiny and the house down during a psychotic episode. After dinner, the family stages a Halloween show for their guests. Baby offends Mary by flirting with Bill, leading to a confrontation. The group prepares to leave, but Otis and Tiny, dressed as scarecrows, attack them in the driveway and take them prisoner.
The next day, Otis kills Bill and mutilates his body for art. Mary is tied up in a barn, Denise is restrained on a bed in a Halloween costume, and Jerry is partially scalped for failing to guess Baby’s favorite movie star. Meanwhile, Denise’s father, Don, reports her disappearance to the police.
