Description: “Hotel Transylvania,” the 2012 animated film, brings together monsters from around the world under one roof. Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, known for TV shows like “Samurai Jack” and “Star Wars: Clone Wars,” the movie features sharp and lively animation that keeps the story engaging, despite its somewhat predictable plot. While it may not reach its full potential, the film delivers plenty of laughs, even if they rely on repeating the same jokes.
The story follows Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler), an overprotective single father raising his daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez). Determined to shield her from the dangers of the human world, Dracula creates Hotel Transylvania, a lavish resort where monsters can relax without fear of pitchforks or angry mobs. Staffed by zombies, witches, and shrunken heads, the hotel serves as a safe haven for creatures of all kinds.
However, Dracula’s primary goal is to protect Mavis. On her 118th birthday, she expresses a desire to explore the world. Reluctantly, Dracula allows her to visit a nearby town, which he has secretly built himself, complete with zombies disguised as humans to scare her into staying home. The film blends humor and heart as it explores themes of family, independence, and acceptance.
