Description: In the fast-paced comedy *Help, I Shrunk My Parents*, featured during the 2019 German Film Festival, teenager Felix Vorndran and his schoolmates encounter an extraordinary situation. Their school harbors a mysterious secret tied to its founder, Otto Leonhard, portrayed by Otto Waalkes. Though now a benevolent ghost, Leonhard’s presence influences every aspect of their lives. Recently modernized, the school fosters a relaxed environment with hands-on activities and strong student-teacher relationships. So revered is Leonhard that a museum in his honor is set to open at the next Parent Committee Meeting.
However, trouble arises when the janitor, Michalski, accidentally spills a peculiar chemical on a shrunken skeleton, reviving the strict former principal, Hulda Stechbarth, played by Andrea Sawatzki. Opposed to the school’s progressive changes, Stechbarth is determined to reimpose her authoritarian methods. Her first victim is the current principal, Dr. Schmitt-Gossenwein, portrayed by Anja Kling, whom she shrinks and traps, preventing her from thwarting Stechbarth’s plans.
In a series of humorous clashes, Leonhard and Stechbarth face off, turning a large portrait into a battlefield of wills. Stechbarth’s skeletal form adds comedic moments as she struggles to keep her bones intact. Felix’s parents, visiting the school, are unexpectedly caught in the chaos and shrunk by Stechbarth’s cunning schemes. The film blends humor and adventure as Felix and his friends work to save their school and parents from Stechbarth’s ruthless takeover.
