Description: In 2008, *Hellboy II: The Golden Army* was released, offering a thrilling cinematic experience. Set in 1955, the story begins with a young Hellboy hearing a bedtime tale from his adoptive father, Trevor Bruttenholm, about an ancient conflict between humans and magical creatures. After being defeated by humans, the goblin blacksmiths propose to Balor, the elf king, the creation of an indestructible mechanical army. Encouraged by his son, Prince Nuada, Balor agrees, and the Golden Army wreaks havoc on humanity. Overcome with remorse, Balor establishes a truce, dividing territories between humans and magical creatures. The crown controlling the army is split into three pieces, and Nuada, opposing the truce, goes into exile.
In the present day, Nuada returns to reclaim the crown pieces. He retrieves the first piece from an auction, releasing vicious tooth fairies that attack the crowd, and kills his father for the second piece. His twin sister, Princess Nuala, flees with the final piece. Meanwhile, Hellboy struggles with his relationship with Liz and his frustration with the B.P.R.D.’s secrecy. After exposing himself during the auction investigation, Hellboy faces backlash from his superiors, who assign Johann Krauss to oversee him.
The team tracks the tooth fairies to a hidden market beneath the Brooklyn Bridge, where Abe Sapien discovers Nuala and falls in love with her. Hellboy battles Nuada’s allies, including Wink and an elemental forest god summoned by Nuada. During the fight, Nuada challenges Hellboy’s loyalty to humans, questioning why he defends those who have marginalized magical creatures like himself. Nuala is placed under the B.P.R.D.’s protection as the conflict escalates.
