Description: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) is the third installment in the beloved Harry Potter film series. The story begins with Harry spending yet another miserable summer with the Dursleys. After Aunt Marge insults his parents, Harry loses his temper, causing her to inflate like a balloon and float away. Frustrated, Harry flees the Dursleys and is picked up by the Knight Bus, which takes him to the Leaky Cauldron. There, Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge pardons him for using magic outside of Hogwarts.
Harry reunites with his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger and learns that Sirius Black, a dangerous supporter of the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, has escaped from Azkaban prison and is targeting Harry. The trio returns to Hogwarts on the Hogwarts Express, which is interrupted by dementors searching for Black. Harry faints during the encounter, but Professor Remus Lupin, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, drives the dementors away using a Patronus Charm.
At Hogwarts, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore announces that dementors will guard the school until Black is captured. Meanwhile, Rubeus Hagrid becomes the new Care of Magical Creatures teacher, though his first class goes awry when Draco Malfoy provokes the hippogriff Buckbeak, leading to an attack. Draco exaggerates his injury, and his father, Lucius Malfoy, secures Buckbeak’s death sentence.
Tension rises as the Fat Lady’s portrait, guarding the Gryffindor common room, is found destroyed, signaling Black’s intrusion into the castle. During a stormy Quidditch match, dementors attack Harry, causing him to fall off his broomstick, which is destroyed by the Whomping Willow.
Harry later discovers in Hogsmeade that Sirius Black was not only his father’s best friend but also his godfather, allegedly responsible for betraying his parents to Voldemort. Professor Lupin teaches Harry how to defend himself against dementors using the Patronus Charm as the mystery surrounding Black deepens.
The film masterfully blends adventure, mystery, and magic, further expanding the wizarding world and its characters.
