Description: In the dystopian future known as the “Maelstrom,” the world has been devastated by nuclear war and rampant disease, leading to the collapse of nations, including the United States. To prevent further chaos, the globe has been divided into smaller states, each operating as an ethical and futuristic society governed by “admedistration” facilities. These centers utilize nanotechnology to enhance medical treatments and improve quality of life. In Japan, a young woman named Tuan Kirie, along with her friends Miach Mihie and Cian Reikado, rebels against this system, seeking true personal freedom. In an act of defiance, they attempt suicide by refusing food and medication to reject the so-called “utopia.” However, Tuan and Cian ultimately fail to carry out their plan.
Thirteen years later, Tuan works for the World Health Organization as part of an international medical police force, still holding onto her ideals. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she reunites with Cian, sparking an investigation into the hidden truths and dangers lurking beneath the surface of this “perfect” society. As Tuan delves deeper, she uncovers unsettling realities about the world she once tried to escape.
