**Storyline:**
Ila Sehgal, a young wife, yearns for her husband Rajeev Sehgal’s attention and tries to rekindle romance in their marriage by preparing delicious lunches for him. She relies on Mumbai’s famous “dabbawala” system, which delivers meals from homes or restaurants to workplaces. However, due to a mix-up, her carefully prepared lunch reaches Saajan Fernandes, a widower nearing retirement from his accounting job, instead of her husband.
Upon realizing the mistake, Ila, encouraged by her neighbor, writes a letter to Saajan and places it in the next day’s lunchbox alongside her husband’s favorite meal. This sparks a series of exchanges through letters, leading to a deep friendship as they share their personal struggles and life experiences.
At work, Saajan is assigned to train Aslam Sheikh, an orphan whose initial incompetence frustrates him. Over time, they bond and develop a close friendship. Saajan even steps in to save Aslam’s job by correcting his mistakes and becomes his best man at his wedding to Mehrunissa.
Meanwhile, Ila discovers her husband’s affair and loses hope in her marriage. In one of her letters to Saajan, she suggests relocating to Bhutan, where living costs are lower. Saajan responds, proposing they move there together, hinting at the possibility of a new beginning for both of them.
