Description: On the night of March 25, 1971, the Pakistan Army launched Operation Searchlight, a brutal military campaign aimed at crushing the democratic aspirations of millions. This operation marked the beginning of one of the worst genocides since World War II. Amidst this chaos, Hasan Ahmed, a respected journalist and husband of Bilkis (Joya Ahsan), disappeared on his way to his office. His whereabouts remain unknown to this day. Bilkis, a banking professional, began a desperate search for her husband while also joining the growing guerrilla resistance. Despite her personal loss, she remained steadfast and took on the perilous path of fighting for liberation.

Bilkis became a key figure in the resistance, working alongside fighters like Shahadat, Alam, Maya, Kazi Kamal, and Fateh Ali in Dhaka. She actively participated in numerous high-risk operations and maintained contact with Altaf Mahmud, a legendary figure in Bengali music known for his revolutionary songs. Bilkis emerged as a central character in the struggle, making her a target for the enemy. Alongside others like Shahin, she contributed to the underground publication of a secret English newsletter, *The Guerrilla*.

Tragically, Taslim Ali Sardar, a local leader who provided shelter to Bilkis, was killed by the Pakistani Army and their collaborators, the rajakars. Later, Altaf Mahmud and several other fighters were captured; many, including Altaf, never returned, their fates remaining a grim reality. Despite the losses, Bilkis managed to evade capture, navigating through the traps and barriers set by the occupation forces. She eventually escaped Dhaka, boarding a train to her hometown, Joleswari, a remote village in Rangpur. Her journey symbolized resilience and determination in the face of unimaginable hardship.
