Description: “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3” is a 2023 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics team, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Directed by James Gunn, it serves as the final installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, following the events of the 2014 and 2017 films. It is also the 32nd entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The movie features an ensemble cast, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and others, as the Guardians embark on a mission to protect Rocket from the High Evolutionary.
Development for the film began in 2014, with Gunn officially announced as writer and director in 2017. Despite being temporarily removed from the project in 2018 due to controversy, Gunn was reinstated later that year. Filming took place from November 2021 to May 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia, following Gunn’s work on “The Suicide Squad” and its spin-off series “Peacemaker.”
The film premiered at Disneyland Paris on April 22, 2023, with its U.S. release scheduled for May 5, 2023, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. The story follows the Guardians as they establish their base on a rebuilt Knowhere. When Adam Warlock attacks, Rocket is gravely injured, prompting the team to seek an override code at Orgosphere, the headquarters of Orgocorp, in a race to save their friend.
