Description: **Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)**
**Storyline:**
In 2014, Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Baby Groud are celebrated as the Guardians of the Galaxy. Ayesha, leader of the Sovereign race, enlists the Guardians to protect valuable batteries from an inter-dimensional monster, Abilisk, in exchange for Gamora’s estranged sister, Nebula, who was caught trying to steal the batteries. After Rocket secretly takes the batteries, the Sovereign retaliates by attacking the Guardians’ ship with drones. A mysterious figure intervenes, destroying the drones, and the Guardians crash-land on a nearby planet. There, the figure reveals himself as Quill’s father, Ego, and invites Quill, Gamora, and Drax to his home planet. Rocket and Groud stay behind to repair the ship and guard Nebula.
Meanwhile, Ayesha hires Yondu Udonta and his crew, who have been exiled from the Ravager community for child trafficking, to recapture the Guardians. Yondu’s men capture Rocket, but Yondu hesitates to hand over Quill, whom he raised. This indecision leads to a mutiny led by his lieutenant, Taserface, with Nebula’s help. Taserface imprisons Rocket and Yondu, executes Yondu’s loyalists, and Nebula leaves to find and kill Gamora, blaming her for the torture inflicted by their father, Thanos. While imprisoned, Rocket and Yondu form a bond. Groad and Kraglin, who never intended to support the mutiny, free Rocket and Yondu. They use Yondu’s arrow to destroy the ship and its crew as they escape, but Taserface warns the Sovereign before dying.
Ego, a Celestial being who formed his “home” planet by manipulating matter, reveals he used a humanoid form to explore the universe and find purpose. He fell in love with Quill’s mother, Meredith, and hired Yondu to bring Quill to him after her death. However, Yondu never delivered Quill, and Ego has been searching for him ever since.
