In 1978 Brooklyn, young Dave Buznik faces humiliation when a local bully, Arnie Shankman, ruins his first kiss by pulling down his pants. Twenty-five years later, Dave works as a secretary for a disrespectful boss named Frank. His past trauma affects his relationship with his girlfriend, Linda, as he avoids public displays of affection. His struggles worsen due to his narcissistic co-worker, Andrew, who is close to Linda and wants to rekindle a romantic connection with her.
During a flight, Dave loses his temper after being mistreated by a flight attendant, leading to his arrest.
