Description: A woman named Susanne Wuest returns home to her modern lakeside house after undergoing cosmetic facial surgery. Her face is heavily bandaged, revealing only her eyes and mouth. Waiting for her are her nine-year-old twin sons, Elias and Lukas. The boys are unsettled by their mother’s altered appearance and grow increasingly disturbed by her strange behavior. She ignores Lukas completely, speaks only to Elias, and imposes strict rules, such as keeping the blinds closed during the day and maintaining silence indoors. When Elias misbehaves, the mother reacts with uncharacteristic cruelty, physically punishing him in ways the boys believe their real mother would never do.
As the twins’ suspicion deepens, they begin to question whether the woman under the bandages is truly their mother. Their doubts intensify when they discover an old photograph showing their mother with another woman who looks strikingly similar. Convinced that an imposter has replaced their mother, the boys flee to a nearby church seeking help from a priest. The priest drives them back home but accepts the woman’s explanation that she is their mother.
Still unconvinced, the twins take extreme measures, tying the woman to her bed and demanding she reveal the whereabouts of their real mother. When she insists she is their mother, the boys resort to burning her face with a magnifying glass to force a confession. They later seal her mouth with tape. Meanwhile, two Red Cross employees arrive to collect donations, but the situation at the house remains unresolved.
