Description: Captain Haruo Sakaki harbors a deep hatred for Godzilla, the creature responsible for his parents’ death during humanity’s exodus from Earth. Believing the chosen colonization planet, Tau-e, to be uninhabitable, he attempts to persuade the ship’s committee to halt their plan to send the elderly, including his grandfather, to scout the planet. His protests lead to his arrest, and he witnesses the exploratory shuttle explode upon entering Tau-e’s atmosphere. Haruo anonymously releases a classified essay detailing Godzilla’s weaknesses, provided by the Exif priest Metphies, swaying public opinion and forcing the central committee to return to Earth after concluding that another habitable world is unlikely to be found.
Upon arriving in Earth’s orbit, the Aratrum sends reconnaissance drones to assess the planet’s surface, revealing that Godzilla is still alive. Metphies secures Haruo’s release, and he explains to the committee that Godzilla has a vulnerability—an electromagnetic pulse-producing organ in its body that generates a shield impervious to all damage except during a brief recycling period. Haruo proposes exploiting this window to crack the shield and implant an EMP probe, causing Godzilla to implode. He emphasizes the need for close combat and requests a force of 600 people to execute the plan.
When Haruo and the troops land on Earth, they discover that 20,000 years have passed due to relativistic effects, and Godzilla’s presence has drastically altered the planet’s biosphere. The group faces losses and damaged landing ships due to attacks from flying creatures called Servums. Mobilizing the remaining troops, they encounter Godzilla, and Haruo proceeds with his plan, attacking the monster before Leland intervenes, provoking Godzilla. Leland’s death reveals that Godzilla’s weak point lies in its dorsal fins. Metphies assumes command, promoting Haruo to lead the survivors in their mission to defeat Godzilla.
The group successfully traps Godzilla in a collapsed mountain pass and kills it, only to realize it was an offspring. The original Godzilla, now 300 meters tall, emerges from beneath a nearby mountain, destroying most of the remaining crew. Haruo, trapped beneath rubble, watches Godzilla depart, vowing to kill the monster before losing consciousness.
