Description: In *Gintama: The Final* (2021), Gintoki, Takasugi, and Katsura confront the Tendoushuu forces controlling the Terminal. At the top of the Terminal, a mothership absorbs vast amounts of Altana to revive Shouyou and achieve true immortality. As the group faces attacks, they split up, with Katsura protecting Shouyou’s heart. Katsura battles Hitsugi, who ultimately destroys the heart, revealing his true goal: to free Utsuro from immortality. Without the heart, Shouyou’s body can only temporarily regenerate. Meanwhile, the Shinsengumi, Hyakka, Oniwabanshu, and Kabukicho residents fight the Tendoushuu army, while Matsudaira targets the ships outside.
Gintoki reunites with Kagura and Shinpachi, and they head to the top of the Terminal. Takasugi reaches the Tendoushuu’s ship, only to find Shouyou has been revived and killed the remaining Tendoushuu. Shouyou expresses his desire to end himself and Utsuro. Takasugi pleads with Shouyou to return to Shoka Sonjuku, but Shouyou apologizes for failing to protect his disciples. As Shouyou approaches, Takasugi stabs him, revealing Utsuro’s blood has overtaken his body, causing a massive explosion at the Terminal’s peak.
Separated from the others, Gintoki faces Utsuro, who has manifested in Takasugi’s body. Utsuro realizes Takasugi did not stab him earlier but instead stabbed himself with Oboro’s blood supporting him. The body Utsuro saw was his own. The final clash between Gintoki and Utsuro begins.
