Description: In 2019, after a series of devastating natural disasters, an international coalition develops a climate-control satellite system named “Dutch Boy.” When Dutch Boy successfully neutralizes a typhoon in Shanghai, chief architect Jake Lawson faces criticism from a U.S. Senate sub-committee for unauthorized activation and is replaced by his brother Max, who works under U.S. Secretary of State Leonard Dekkom.
Three years later, a U.N. team discovers a frozen village in the Registan Desert. Indian engineer Makmoud Habib, working on the International Climate Space Station (ICSS), copies data from the satellite responsible for Afghanistan before dying in an alleged accident. Max convinces President Andrew Palma to launch an investigation and persuades Jake to inspect the ICSS.
Strange weather anomalies begin occurring, starting with Hong Kong, where a satellite drastically increases temperatures, causing destructive firenados and collapsing buildings, nearly killing Dutch Boy’s Hong Kong department head, Cheng Long.
Jake arrives at ICSS to investigate the malfunctioning satellites, which show signs of damage and erased data. Collaborating with station commander Ute Fassbinder and her team—engineer Eni Adisa, systems specialist Duncan Taylor, technician Al Hernandez, and security officer Ray Dussette—they recover the hard drive but conceal it, suspecting a traitor. Analysis reveals a computer virus causing the malfunctions and blocking senior personnel from accessing the satellite.
Jake suspects President Palma is weaponizing Dutch Boy and informs Max that rebooting the system with the kill code held by Palma is necessary to eliminate the virus. The ICSS team deactivates malfunctioning satellites by deliberately colliding them with replacements.
