Description: The 2004 movie “Garfield” follows the story of a lazy, free-spirited orange cat who lives with his owner, Jon Arbuckle, in Los Angeles. Garfield spends his days annoying Jon and teasing his aggressive Dobermann neighbor, Luca. Despite his usual antics, Garfield shares an unlikely friendship with a helpful mouse named Louis and socializes with fellow neighborhood cats, Nermal and Arlene. Jon frequently takes Garfield to the veterinarian to see Dr. Liz Wilson, whom he is interested in. However, a misunderstanding leads Jon to take in a playful and friendly dog named Odie.
As Jon and Liz start dating, Garfield grows jealous of Odie and constantly mocks him. During a canine talent show where Liz is a judge, Garfield gets into a confrontation with other dogs, unintentionally putting Odie in the spotlight. Odie impresses the audience and a TV host named Happy Chapman with an improvised dance to a popular song. Though Chapman offers Jon a TV deal for Odie, Jon declines.
Back at home, Garfield’s frustration with Odie leads to a mishap that results in the house being left in disarray. Jon punishes Garfield by making him sleep outside. When Odie tries to comfort him, Garfield locks him out of the house, causing Odie to run away. An elderly woman, Mrs. Baker, takes Odie in, while Jon and Liz begin searching for him. Garfield’s friends, Nermal and Arlene, criticize him for his actions, though Garfield insists it was unintentional.
