Description: Amit Kumar, the Superintendent of Police, is appointed to Tejpur, a region plagued by high crime rates. The local police are heavily influenced by Sadhu Yadav, a powerful don, and his son Sunder. During his journey to the headquarters, Amit’s car breaks down, allowing him to assess the area. He notices widespread negligence among police officers, poor infrastructure, outdated equipment, insufficient resources, and the officers’ reliance on corrupt local contractors.

Inspector Bachcha Yadav, who works for Sadhu, visits Sadhu’s hideout and encounters Nunwa, a notorious local criminal. Nunwa had recently murdered an officer from Bachcha’s department during a heated argument. Fearing that Nunwa’s arrest might expose the ties between him and the Tejpur police, Bachcha kills Nunwa and claims it was an encounter. Amit later discovers Nunwa’s connection to Sadhu and suspends Bachcha as punishment. Worried about being transferred, Bachcha seeks Sadhu’s assistance but learns that Sadhu has abandoned him.

Amit becomes aware of another incident involving Sunder, who has abducted a young woman. Amit convinces the woman’s reluctant mother to file a police complaint. Bachcha seizes the opportunity and requests a chance to prove himself. He tricks Sunder into a factory where Amit and his team ambush and arrest him. Sunder is brought to court, but the woman’s mother refuses to testify after being threatened by Deputy Inspector General Verma, a loyal associate of Sadhu. Due to insufficient evidence, Sunder is acquitted.

Afterward, Sadhu’s men attempt to destroy the shop of a pan vendor who testified against Sunder, but Amit intervenes. Later, at the jail, Bachcha throws acid into Sunder’s eyes, an act known locally as “Gangaajal.” The incident sparks controversy, with the police accused of taking the law into their own hands.
