Description: Craig Jones, a recently fired and unemployed slacker, lives in South Central Los Angeles. He spends his Friday with his best friend Smokey, a small-time drug dealer. The two smoke a batch of marijuana that Smokey was supposed to sell for his supplier, Big Worm. When Big Worm tries to collect the money, he discovers they’ve smoked the drugs instead. He gives them an ultimatum: repay $200 by 10:00 PM that evening, or face deadly consequences.
Craig tries to borrow money from various people, including his mother Betty, his sister Dana, and his abusive girlfriend Joi, who refuses, accusing him of cheating with a local drug addict named Felisha. Craig retrieves a gun to protect Smokey, but his father Willie advises him to rely on his fists instead of weapons.
Meanwhile, Smokey sells some drugs to Hector, a former friend. Deebo, the neighborhood bully, forces Smokey to break into their neighbor Stanley’s house to steal money. They manage to take $200, but Deebo keeps it for himself.
Smokey tries to retrieve the money from Deebo, who is asleep at Felisha’s house, but fails due to interference from a petty thief named Ezal. When Deebo wakes up, Craig and Smokey notice a suspicious slow-moving car and hide in Craig’s room, fearing a drive-by shooting. As 10:00 PM approaches, they fail to contact Big Worm and leave the house, only to encounter Big Worm’s men in a black van, leading to a shootout.
