**Storyline:**
In 1939, Captain Daniel McCormick, a U.S. Army Air Corps test pilot, survives a crash landing after testing a prototype bomber. His friend, scientist Harry Finley, reveals a breakthrough with “Project B,” a cryonic freezing chamber. When McCormick’s girlfriend, Helen, falls into a coma with little hope of recovery, he volunteers to undergo suspended animation for a year to avoid witnessing her death.
Fifty-three years later, in 1992, two boys accidentally activate the chamber, awakening McCormick. Disoriented and discovering he’s in a new era, he attempts to seek help from the military but is dismissed as delusional. Determined to uncover the truth, McCormick follows a clue from a boy’s jacket and befriends 10-year-old Nat Cooper. While hiding in Nat’s treehouse, he saves Nat’s mother, Claire, from her abusive ex-boyfriend. A bond forms between McCormick and Claire, and she allows him to stay.
As time passes, McCormick’s body begins to age rapidly due to the effects of the cryogenic process. He tracks down Finley’s daughter, Susan, who informs him of her father’s death and provides his journals, revealing the aging process is irreversible. Susan also shares that Helen is still alive. Together, they evade the FBI, who are now pursuing McCormick, and race against time to find Helen before it’s too late.
