Description: Flushed Away is a 2006 animated film that tells the story of Roddy St. James, a pampered pet mouse living in a luxurious Kensington apartment. While his owners are on holiday, Roddy enjoys the peace and quiet until a sewer rat named Sid unexpectedly appears through the sink drain. Sid, eager to stay and watch the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final between England and Germany, disrupts Roddy’s life. In an attempt to get rid of Sid, Roddy tries to flush him down the toilet but ends up being pushed in himself, landing in the sewers.
Roddy discovers Ratropolis, a vibrant underground city made of discarded items, reminiscent of London. Seeking a way back home, he is advised to find Rita Malone, a resourceful scavenger mouse who operates a boat called the Jammy Dodger. However, their journey takes a dangerous turn when they are captured by Spike and Whitey, two rats working for the Toad, a villainous character. The Toad, who harbors a deep hatred for rodents after being replaced as Prince Charles’s favorite pet, plans to freeze Roddy and Rita with liquid nitrogen.
The duo escapes, taking with them a prized ruby and a crucial electric master cable needed to control the sewer floodgates. Roddy later discovers the ruby is a fake and offers Rita a real one in exchange for her help in returning to Kensington. Along the way, a misunderstanding nearly breaks their partnership, but they reconcile and continue their escape, evading the Toad’s relentless henchmen.
As the Toad grows increasingly frustrated with his minions’ failures, he enlists the help of his cousin, Le Frog, escalating the chase. The film combines humor, adventure, and heartwarming moments as Roddy learns the value of friendship and teamwork in his quest to return home.
