Description: Norimichi Shimada and Nazuna Oikawa reside in the town of Moshimo, which means “if” in Japanese. Their classmates engage in a debate about whether fireworks appear round or flat when viewed from the side. Meanwhile, Nazuna, who is hesitant about moving away with her mother and her fiancé, discovers a small glass marble.
One day, while Norimichi and Yusuke are cleaning the swimming pool, Nazuna joins them for a race. Yusuke wins, and Nazuna invites him to watch the fireworks with her that evening. However, Nazuna plans to run away from home, packing a suitcase in preparation. When Yusuke cancels the date, Nazuna’s mother catches her and drags her back. Norimichi finds the marble from her suitcase and throws it, wishing he had won the race. This action rewinds time to the moment of the race, where Norimichi wins, and Nazuna asks him out instead.
The two end up at the train station but are discovered again by Nazuna’s mother. Noticing the fireworks appear flat, Norimichi realizes they are in an alternate timeline and wishes for another chance to escape with Nazuna. He throws the marble from a lighthouse, reversing time once more. This time, they manage to board the train together but are eventually caught by their families and friends. When Yusuke pushes them off the lighthouse balcony, Norimichi uses the marble again, wishing they could remain unseen.
Time resets once more, and the train takes a different route, transporting Norimichi and Nazuna to a surreal reality where their town is enclosed in a glass dome. Later, a pyrotechnician uses the marble as part of a firework charge, causing it to explode in the sky. Through the explosion, they glimpse visions of their future. Nazuna asks Norimichi where they will meet next. The following day, Norimichi is absent from school, leaving his classmates wondering about his whereabouts.
