Description: Faster is a 2011 action thriller that follows James “Jimmy” Cullen, who, upon being released from prison, reclaims his 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, a gun, and a list of targets. The story begins with Cullen heading to Bakersfield, California, where he kills a man before confronting Roy Grone, the individual who provided him with the car and gun. Cullen demands more names from Grone to continue his mission. Meanwhile, detectives Cicero and Humphries begin tracking Cullen, while a professional hitman known as “Killer” is hired to eliminate him.
Cullen proceeds to locate the second person on his list, Kenneth Tyson, who is known for producing snuff films. After killing Tyson, Cullen engages in a gunfight with Killer in a hallway but manages to escape. This encounter deeply affects Killer, who becomes personally invested in his task. Cicero and Humphries investigate Cullen’s past and uncover that he was betrayed during a robbery.
The detectives recall Cullen from a video showing the death of his older half-brother, Gary. The footage reveals an unidentified man shooting Cullen in the head, which he miraculously survives, leading to the surgical implantation of a metal plate in his skull. Cullen visits his former girlfriend, who is aware of his mission to eliminate those involved in the video. She reveals she aborted their child and has moved on, bidding him farewell.
In Nevada, Cullen confronts Hovis Nixon, another individual connected to Gary’s death, stabbing him in a strip club. Nixon survives, and both Humphries and Killer learn of his hospitalization. Cullen returns to the hospital to finish the job, killing Nixon during surgery. Humphries attempts to apprehend Cullen but is spared when Cullen notices his badge.
As Cullen drives away from the hospital, he encounters Killer, leading to a high-speed chase on the freeway. The pursuit ends with Killer shooting Cullen in the neck. Eventually, Cullen begins to suspect that his father orchestrated the attempt on his and Gary’s lives after they refused to share the proceeds from a bank robbery.
