**Storyline:**
The story picks up right where the previous film, *Fast & Furious*, left off. Dominic “Dom” Toretto (Vin Diesel) is being transported to Lompoc prison by bus when his sister Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) and friend Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) stage a daring bus assault, freeing Dom. As authorities hunt them down, the trio flees to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Upon arriving in Rio, Mia, Brian, and Dom meet up with their friend Vince (Matt Schulze) from the first *Fast and Furious* movie and join a crew to steal three cars from a train. Mid-heist, they discover the train is carrying DEA agents and that the vehicles are seized property. Dom realizes one of the crew members, Zizi (Michael Irby), is only interested in stealing a specific car—a Ford GT40.
Brian, Dom, and Mia investigate the car and find a hidden computer chip containing details of a $100 million fortune belonging to a notorious crime lord, Reyes. After Vince gets caught trying to steal the chip for himself, Dom forces him to leave.
Meanwhile, following the murder of the DEA agents on the train—which is blamed on Dom’s team—U.S. Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) arrives in Rio to capture Dom and Brian. With the help of local officer Elena Neves (Elsa Pataky), Hobbs tracks them down, but Reyes’ men attack their safehouse.
As they escape, Mia reveals she’s pregnant with Brian’s child. Dom decides they should stick together and proposes a bold plan: steal Reyes’ $100 million to start a new life.
