Description: The 2018 Hindi film *Fanney Khan* follows the story of Prashant Kumar Sharma, aka Fanney Khan, played by Anil Kapoor, a part-time vocalist in an orchestra who dreams of becoming a successful singer. Despite his passion, circumstances prevent him from achieving his goal. After the birth of his daughter, he names her Lata, inspired by the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.
As Lata, portrayed by Pihu Sand, grows up, she inherits her father’s musical talent and possesses an incredible voice. However, she faces ridicule and bullying due to her weight. Lata idolizes Baby Singh, a famous singer played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is exhausted by her hectic life and yearns for a break. Meanwhile, Prashant loses his job at a factory and begins working as a taxi driver to make ends meet.
One day, fate brings Baby Singh into Prashant’s taxi. Seizing the opportunity, Prashant drugs her with sleeping pills and plans to kidnap her with the help of his best friend, Adhir, played by Rajkummar Rao. His ultimate goal is to release an album for his daughter, Lata. Although hesitant, Adhir agrees to assist.
During the kidnapping, Adhir and Baby Singh develop an unexpected friendship. Adhir eventually takes her out, and she begins to enjoy her newfound freedom. Meanwhile, Prashant discovers that the police are aware of the kidnapping after a watchmen reports seeing Adhir take Baby Singh’s dog, Ustaad, whom she considers her closest companion.
Disguised as Rajinikanth, Prashant approaches Baby Singh’s director, Karan Kukkad, to arrange an album for Lata. During the recording, Lata’s enthusiasm and talent impress the director, who soon realizes that Prashant is the infamous Fanney Khan. When Prashant removes his mask, he convinces the director to trust him and Adhir.
Lata eventually replaces Baby Singh as a performer on the reality show *India ki Awaaz*. Meanwhile, Adhir and Baby Singh go missing, and the police surround Prashant’s factory, escalating the tension.
