**Storyline:**
Lucy Martin, a copywriter living with her husband Adrian in Manhattan, struggles to conceive after two years of trying. They turn to Dr. John Hindle, Adrian’s former mentor and a renowned fertility specialist, for help. Using a unique technique developed by Hindle, Lucy becomes pregnant. However, during an ultrasound, she learns she is carrying three embryos: two male twins and a female. Hindle recommends a selective reduction, suggesting the termination of either the twins or the female embryo to ensure a healthy pregnancy. Lucy and Adrian decide to keep the female baby.
As her pregnancy progresses, Lucy joins a support group for expectant mothers, where she befriends Corgan, who conceived through IVF. Lucy also becomes intrigued by Grace Singleton, a spiritual midwife with a natural approach to childbirth. However, concerns arise during the reduction procedure when Lucy loses consciousness and later experiences severe bleeding, which Hindle dismisses as normal.
