Description: The 2019 film *Eye for an Eye* begins with Kike (Enric Auquer) on a fishing platform, where a man is thrown into an underwater cage with his hands chained. Meanwhile, in prison, Antonio Padín (Xan Cejudo), a semi-retired drug lord, undergoes tests that reveal his declining mobility due to an unnamed condition. Due to his health, Padín is released from prison and picked up by his son, Toño (Ismael Martínez), who intends to take him home. However, Padín refuses and decides to go to a nursing home instead, stating, “because I fucking feel like it.” Kike contacts Padín to inform him about a captured man they are torturing, and Padín instructs him to break the man’s legs.
The story then shifts to Mario (Luis Tosar), a head nurse at an assisted living facility, and his wife, Julia (María Vázquez), who is pregnant. Mario is shown to be skilled at his job, convincing a reluctant patient to eat dinner, though his methods are questionable. He learns from a colleague, Luisa Mayol (María Luisa Mayol), that Padín will be staying at the facility. Mario recognizes Padín as a former drug lord.
Tensions rise as Padín argues with Kike and Toño about dealings with Chinese and Colombian associates. Kike shows little respect for Padín, who dismisses his immaturity. Meanwhile, Mario gains some trust from Padín by helping him with hand stretches to improve his mobility. Toño informs Padín that they will move forward with their plans “with or without you,” while Kike threatens Mario if he harms Padín. A shaken Mario retreats to the bathroom, deeply affected by the situation. Later, at home, a news report about Padín stirs strong emotions in Mario, which he hides from Julia.
