Description: Pallavi resides in New Orleans and shares a close yet tense relationship with her mother, Usha, who has returned to Delhi due to her husband’s work. Usha is deeply concerned about Pallavi, who is nearing thirty and still unmarried. Usha, who is deeply involved in Vedic astrology, persistently worries and arranges dates for her daughter. Her anxiety worsens due to migraine headaches, which have led her to withdraw from socializing. To appease her mother, the happily single Pallavi agrees to attend a blind date arranged by Usha at a café. Although the date doesn’t show up, Pallavi meets Sandeep, and the two start dating. Sandeep appears perfect: handsome, wealthy, and Indian. However, when discussing past relationships, Sandeep reveals that an ex-girlfriend attempted suicide after their breakup. Pallavi notices his anger when she declines his gift of earrings but dismisses it.
When Pallavi informs Usha about Sandeep, Usha grows concerned instead of being happy. She insists on investigating Sandeep’s background. An astrologer claims that Pallavi and Sandeep are highly compatible. However, a private investigator reveals that Sandeep has a history with previous girlfriends who are hesitant to talk about him. Sandeep later invites Pallavi to move in with him, but she declines. Instead, he offers to pay for her new apartment, allowing her to quit her job and focus on her writing aspirations. Pallavi moves into the new place, but Usha becomes worried about Sandeep’s increasing control over her daughter. Pallavi defends Sandeep, claiming he only wants the best for her.
