Description: Eragon (2006) follows the story of Arya, an elf princess from Ellesméra, who flees with a mysterious stone pursued by Durza, a dark sorcerer serving King Galbatorix. When cornered, Arya uses magic to transport the stone away. Meanwhile, Eragon, a farm boy from Alagaësia, discovers the stone while hunting and soon realizes it is a dragon egg when a blue dragon hatches from it. Upon touching the dragon, a magical mark appears on his palm, drawing the attention of Arya, Brom, and Galbatorix.
Eragon names the dragon Saphira, and they form a bond as he teaches her to fly. However, when Durza’s minions, the Ra’zac, attack Eragon’s village and kill his uncle, Eragon blames Saphira and sends her away. Brom intervenes, explaining Saphira’s importance and urging Eragon to call her back. Together, they embark on a journey to join the Varden, a rebel group opposing Galbatorix.
Along the way, Brom trains Eragon in sword-fighting and reveals the history of dragon riders, including his own tragic past. Eragon also encounters Angela, a fortune-teller, who warns him of the challenges ahead. During an attack by Galbatorix’s forces, Eragon unleashes a powerful magic attack, nearly overwhelming himself. Brom continues teaching Eragon to harness his abilities and bond with Saphira. Eventually, they confront and defeat the Ra’zac, with Brom revealing he was once a dragon rider whose dragon was killed by a rogue ally of Galbatorix.
