Storyline:
Just nine days after the series finale, Vincent Chase separates from his wife and hosts a party on his yacht. His friends E, Johnny, and Turtle join him to lift his spirits. Eager to explore new career opportunities, Vince reaches out to his former agent, Ari Gold, now a studio head. Ari offers Vince a leading role in his first studio production, but Vince insists on directing the film as well.
Eight months later, Vince’s directorial debut, *Hyde*, is in post-production but over budget by $15 million. To secure additional funding, Vince approaches Ari, who reluctantly agrees to seek $10 million more. Ari travels to Texas to meet the film’s co-financiers, Larsen McCredle and his son Travis, to pitch the additional investment. Larsen hesitates but sends Travis to Los Angeles to preview the film.
Vince, unsure about the rough cut, cancels the private screening, worried it won’t be well-received. Instead, he sends a copy to Ari and Travis for their review. While both enjoy the film, Travis demands the removal of scenes featuring Vince’s brother, Johnny “Drama” Chase, or he will withhold the extra funding. Ari struggles with the decision, and Travis halts post-production.
Vince and E attempt to negotiate with Travis, but he criticizes Vince’s performance and demands a complete recasting of the lead role and replacement of the director. Meanwhile, studio CEO John Ellis removes Ari from the project.
The group discovers that Travis’s anger stems from Vince secretly dating Emily Ratajkowski, whom Travis is infatuated with. Ari uses this revelation to confront Ellis, Larsen, and Travis during a boardroom meeting, hoping to resolve the conflict and save the film.
