The Times of India awarded the film a 4 out of 5, praising it as a thought-provoking political drama that avoids favoring any ideology. Instead, it highlights the flaws within both political parties without being overly instructive.
However, The Hindu’s S. R. Praveen noted that while director Jibu Jacob aims to balance family drama with political commentary, the film lacks the lightness, humor, and engaging script of his previous work, *Vellimoonga*. Malayala Manorama gave it a 2.5 out of 5, criticizing its stale plot, unconvincing scenarios, and poor scripting, stating that the film fails to rise above these common pitfalls.
Sowmya Rajendran of The News Minute rated the film 2 out of 5, calling the screenplay overstuffed with issues that border on caricature. She found the final 30 minutes particularly dull, even suggesting an urge to leave the theater. Rajendran concluded that while the concept may have seemed promising on paper, the execution fell short, resulting in a disappointing outcome.
