Description: **Ek Phool Do Mali (1969) Movie Synopsis**
Somna, a poor woman, lives with her widowed mother, Leela, in the mountainous regions of India and Nepal. She works on the apple farm owned by Kailash Nath Kaushal, a wealthy widower who also runs a mountaineering school. Amar Kumar, one of Kaushal’s students, meets Somna, and the two fall in love. They plan to marry after Amar returns from a climbing expedition. However, tragedy strikes when an avalanche claims Amar’s life, leaving Somna heartbroken.
Soon after, Somna is assaulted by Shamsher Singh, but Kailash steps in to protect her. Learning that Somna is pregnant, he offers to marry her. They wed, and Somna gives birth to a son, Bobby. Shamsher is imprisoned for six years, and Kailash, who cannot have children due to a past accident, embraces fatherhood wholeheartedly. He becomes deeply attached to Bobby.
Five years later, during Bobby’s sixth birthday celebration, Somna and Kailash are shocked when Amar unexpectedly reappears. Bobby, who adores Kailash, also grows fond of Amar, his biological father, causing tension in the family. Somna forbids Bobby from seeing Amar, but Kailash, prioritizing Bobby’s happiness, allows the relationship to continue.
Somna confronts Amar, asking him to stay away, and he reluctantly agrees. However, during a walk with Kailash, Bobby spots Amar and runs toward him, accidentally entering a dynamite zone and getting injured. At the hospital, doctors reveal Bobby’s critical condition due to severe blood loss. When Kailash’s blood type doesn’t match, Amar donates his blood, saving Bobby’s life.
While Kailash is relieved that Bobby survives, he remains anxious about the possibility of Amar taking Bobby away from him. The emotional complexities of the story highlight themes of love, sacrifice, and family bonds.
