**Plot Summary:**
Sweety Chaudhary, a young Punjabi woman, faces pressure from her traditional family to marry. At a wedding, she meets Kuhu and her brother Raza. A year later in Delhi, Sahil Mirza, an aspiring but struggling playwright, is advised by his father, a renowned film producer, to abandon his career. Sweety attends a rehearsal of Sahil’s play and critiques its superficial romance. When a man chases her, Sahil intervenes, accidentally hitting a policeman in the process. At the police station, Sahil discovers the man is Sweety’s brother, Babloo, and they reside in Chaudhary Manor, Moga, Punjab. Determined to see Sweety again, Sahil decides to write his next play in Moga, joined by Chatro, a caterer and enthusiastic amateur actress.
Sweety and Babloo’s father, Balbir Chaudhary, runs a clothing company, Chaudhary Garments, though his true passion is cooking, a desire discouraged by his mother, Beeji. Babloo accuses Sweety of visiting Delhi to meet a Muslim boy, leading to her confinement. Sahil arrives at Chaudhary Manor with a letter for Sweety. Mistaking Balbir for the cook, Sahil pays him to deliver the letter, which convinces Balbir that Sahil is Sweety’s Muslim suitor.
Sahil later enlists Balbir’s employee, Chaubey, to convey a message to Sweety. Chaubey informs Sahil that Sweety loves him, but her family disapproves due to his Muslim background. Meanwhile, family employees place bets on Sweety’s potential spouse, with the cook, Billauri, favoring a match from a dating app, and Chaubey betting on an unknown outsider, referred to as “Mr. X.” Sweety discovers Sahil’s acting classes and attends with Beeji and Billauri. Sahil and Chatro are subsequently invited to Beeji’s birthday celebration.
