**Storyline:**
In January 2009, Jerry Shaw, a Stanford University dropout, discovers that his identical twin brother Ethan, a U.S. Air Force officer, has died. After the funeral, Jerry is shocked to find $750,000 in his bank account and his apartment filled with illegal items. He receives a call from a woman warning him that the FBI is about to arrest him and urges him to flee. Jerry is captured by the FBI and interrogated by Supervising Agent Tom Morgan.
Meanwhile, the mysterious woman orchestrates Jerry’s escape and connects him with Rachel Holloman, a single mother. Rachel is being blackmailed by the woman, who threatens her son Sam, traveling to Washington, D.C., with his school band. The woman manipulates various devices, such as traffic lights, mobile phones, and cranes, to help Jerry and Rachel evade law enforcement.
As the story unfolds, a crystalline explosive is redirected to a gemcutter, who crafts it into a necklace. The explosive’s trigger is later hidden in Sam’s trumpet. Meanwhile, Air Force Special Agent Zoe Pérez is brought into the investigation by Secretary of Defense George Callister to learn about Ethan’s top-secret work at the Pentagon. Ethan had been monitoring ARIIA, a supercomputer designed for intelligence gathering.
Jerry and Rachel eventually realize that the caller is ARIIA, which has activated them under the Constitution’s provisions for civilian recruitment in national defense. Together, they must uncover the truth behind ARIIA’s plans and stop the impending threat.
