Description: In 1982, the film “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” tells the story of alien botanists who visit Earth at night to collect plant samples in a California forest. When government agents arrive, the aliens quickly retreat, but one is accidentally left behind. In the San Fernando Valley, a ten-year-old boy named Elliott discovers the stranded alien hiding in his family’s tool shed. Although the alien initially runs away, Elliott uses Reese’s Pieces candy to lure it to his house.
Elliott soon realizes he can sense the alien’s thoughts and emotions, a connection that becomes evident when the alien’s actions, like opening an umbrella, cause Elliott to react simultaneously. With the help of his siblings, Michael and Gertie, Elliott decides to keep the alien a secret from their mother, Mary. The alien demonstrates its extraordinary abilities by reviving dead flowers and using a makeshift communicator to attempt contact with its home planet.
As the alien learns English, it reveals its signature power by healing a cut on Elliott’s finger with its glowing fingertip. Together, Elliott and his siblings embark on an unforgettable journey to help their newfound friend return home.
