Over time, Durga earns the trust of the family and becomes like one of their own. However, her true motive is revealed—she was placed in the household as part of a plan orchestrated by her husband, Madhab, a notorious dacoit. Madhab and his gang plan to raid the Basak home on the night of Dashami.
The plan fails when Durga alerts the police beforehand, leading to the arrest of Madhab and his gang. Durga is also taken into custody, as her real identity is Chaina, an informant for the dacoits with a history of three thefts. Despite her actions, the Basak family promises to support her and welcomes her back once she is free. The film concludes with the departure of Maa Durga and Durga/Chaina, symbolizing hope for their eventual return home.
