**Storyline:**
For two decades, Lloyd Christmas has been in a catatonic state at a mental institution, ever since he discovered that Mary Swanson, the woman he loved, was already married at the end of the first film. During a visit, his best friend Harry Dunne tries to snap Lloyd out of his condition, only to realize that Lloyd has been faking it all along as a prank.
Harry then reveals that he needs a kidney transplant and discovers he cannot rely on his parents for a donation because he was adopted. While going through his old mail, Harry finds a postcard from his former girlfriend, Fraida Felcher, dated back to 1991. In it, Fraida mentions she is pregnant and asks Harry to contact her. Upon speaking with her, Harry learns he has a daughter named Fanny, who was given up for adoption. Fraida reveals she once tried to reach out to Fanny but was told never to contact her again.
Hoping Fanny can provide a kidney, Lloyd and Harry set off for Oxford, Maryland, where she now lives. Fanny, now known as Penny, is the adoptive daughter of Dr. Bernard Pinchelow and his wife Adele. Penny is preparing to attend a KEN Convention in El Paso, Texas, where she plans to deliver a speech about her father’s groundbreaking work.
Meanwhile, Adele is secretly plotting with her lover, Travis Lippincott, to poison Bernard and take control of his vast fortune. When Harry and Lloyd arrive and explain their situation, Bernard realizes Penny has forgotten an important package containing his billion-dollar invention, adding another layer of chaos to the story.
