Karamveer “Karam” Singh is a middle-class man living in Mathura, working as a Jagrata performer. He possesses the unique talent of mimicking a female voice. His father, Jagjit Singh, is heavily in debt and struggling to repay loans. Karam is in a relationship with Pari Srivastava, a lawyer from a wealthy family, whose father insists that Karam must secure a high-paying job and buy a house before he can marry Pari.
To earn fast money, Karam disguises himself as a woman named “Pooja” and becomes a dancer at a local bar owned by Sona Bhai, keeping Pari in the dark about his double life. Karam’s best friend, Smiley Singh Dhillon, loves Sakina, the daughter of the aggressive Abu Saleem, who demands that Sakina cannot marry until his son, Shah Rukh Saleem, who is suffering from depression after a recent breakup, finds happiness. Abu offers a reward of ₹10 lakhs to anyone who can cheer up Shah Rukh.
Karam, as “Pooja,” manages to lift Shah Rukh’s spirits. Abu is thrilled and wishes for “Pooja” to marry Shah Rukh, while Shah Rukh’s grandfather promises ₹50 lakhs to “Pooja” for a marriage proposal.
